Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe represents a one-off licensed crossover that has aged into collector obscurity rather than cult reverence. The experimental fusion of two major franchises generated moderate interest at release but failed to establish lasting collector demand. Physical copies remain in moderate circulation on PS3 and Xbox 360, reflecting neither scarcity nor active collector pursuit. The title's reliance on licensed DC Comics characters creates long-term reprint and re-release barriers, effectively locking it to its original physical release. As a legacy fighting game on aging platforms with dormant community engagement, it occupies the space between forgotten mainstream release and genuine collector artifact.
