Ehrgeiz occupies a unique position in fighting game collector consciousness—a Namco arcade translation that arrived on original PlayStation with limited North American distribution and has remained physically scarce ever since. The sealed NTSC-U copy represents a genuine artifact of late-90s arcade-to-console experimentation, when fighting game publishers took calculated risks on niche titles. Collector demand remains steady but specialized, concentrated among fighting game historians and original PlayStation completionists rather than mainstream audiences. The game's experimental mechanics and modest print run have insulated it from reprinting pressure, preserving its physical scarcity across decades. Format resilience is high; the disc plays fully from physical media with no online dependencies or server requirements.
